SSN strictly follows all Dutch and European guidelines involving demolition and recycling vessels. These guidelines are deeply woven through our entire recycling process. SSN is also one of the few demolition sites for shipwrecks that is included in the European list of implementation (EU) 2016/2323 involving ship
recycling facilities for regulation (EU) 1257/2013 by the European
Parement and council involving ship recycling facilities.
Following these guidelines has secured us a list of high profile clients who have high demands when it comes to recycling their vessels. A small selection of these clients are the Dutch and German navy, the demolition and recycling of former nuclear waste transport vessels used by the Britisch government and salvaging, dismantling and recycling of many other shipwrecks.
Working closely with shipowners, government and other interested parties the regulations to achieve better health and environmental circumstances for demolition sites and providers of objects to be recycled. We care very deeply about leaving the smallest environmental footprint possible and making the work situation as optimal at the same time. These regulations are becoming more strict and is still developing towards final guidelines, but we are positive to evolve with every change coming.
